Girls Football Teams - Players Wanted #WeCanPlay
Our SSE Wildcats Centre which was born early 2018 continues to see a number of girls training with the club on Friday evening and due to its success we are looking to create a 3 girls teams to be entered in leagues in the 2019/20 season. Provided we get enough interest we are targeting teams at the Under 8, Under 9 and Under 11 age groups. We are recruiting girls in current school years 2, 3, 4 & 5 who are interested in taking up football as a sport. The Women's game continues to grow at all levels with teams at the elite level beginning to turn proffessional it really is an excellent time to join the pathway. Our Wildcats currently train on between 5:45 and 6:45 on Friday evening at Montsaye and initially we are inviting all girls to attend these sessions before they break up into their teams once we have enough interest. Coaches have been recruited and are ready to hit the ground running and provide these girls with an excellent introduction to the game. Matches for the 2019/20 season will take place at the weekends similar to the boys/mixed football with a midweek night training session for the teams. Many girls get put off the sport in the early years and still in this day and age get discouraged from playing. Football is a sport for all and girls of all ages should be encouraged to play. Our sport not only develops their motor skill and footballing technique but also provides social interaction in a team environment, encourages decision making and responsibility along with keeping them fit and healthy. Any girls interested in joining should contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, via facebook or call us on 07903 189359.
