FC Aztec to host the local SSE Wildcats Centre

FC Aztec to host the local SSE Wildcats Centre

Behind the scenes personnel at the club have been working hard to seek ways improvements can be made and increase our offerings to the local community.

Yesterday (01 March) the club received confirmation that we have been accepted by Northamptonshire FA to host the local SSE Wildcats Centre.

What is SSE Wildcats?

“The Football Association and SSE have teamed up to launch a new initiative in 2017, SSE Wildcats, designed to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to be involved in the sport.

SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Clubs provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.

The SSE Wildcats club will be run in conjunction with local County FAs, utilising our qualified coaches and local facilities we can offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved. The coaches will soon be attending St George’s Park where they will be trained in delivering tailored sessions to meet the needs of the girls no matter what football experience they have.

SSE Wildcats has been established in partnership with SSE, supporters of girls’ football participation and sponsor of the SSE Women’s FA Cup, with support from UEFA, FIFA and The Youth Sport Trust.”

This is a leap forward for the club and for girls football in Rothwell, Desborough and surrounding areas. We hope to increase participation in girls football in conjunction with the Football Association.

The centre will open in April 2018 and further information will be release in due course so keep an eye on our social media in the coming weeks!
