Aztec team tackle the X Runner Wild Warrior OCR
In a rare moment of weakness (it may have been after a few Diet Cokes at the volunteers' celebration evening), Club Chairman Chris Terry was persuaded to take part in an X Runner event this September by ex-player and popular local referee Harry Lawrence.
And, as we all know kids, you just don't argue with the referee.
X Runner events are extreme Obstacle Course Runs (OCR) that involve over 50 obstacles across a 10km run. The challenge is both physical and mental and involves fun, fitness, a willingness to have a go and mud. Lots and lots of mud. (Does that make it good training for winter weekends at North Park?)
There are rumours that other team managers have been persuaded too.
If you'd like to take part, please get in touch and we'll be happy to send you details of how to join the team. The event takes place in two months, on Saturday 21 September 2019
Of course, if you don't want to take part, you can still help make it a successful event by donating to Harry's JustGiving page to boost the club's ability to work with local players.
We'll be following the team's efforts to prepare themselves for the challenge in the coming weeks.
Keep an eye on our social media channels for the gory details..!
